Carsen grew up in southern Minnesota and moved to the area to attend UW-Superior, where they earned their bachelor’s degree in art therapy in 2019. After working in the mental health field for several years, they decided to make a career change, taking an opportunity to work as an assistant in the Audiology department at Essentia, where they discovered their passion for working with patients in this field.
Being a hearing aid user themselves, Carsen loves starting conversations with others about their hearing health, and breaking the stigma that hearing loss is “just an aging thing”. In the office, Carsen enjoys connecting with patients, answering questions and helping them with their devices; whether it’s a quick cleaning, Bluetooth troubleshooting or scheduling an appointment with one of the doctors.
Carsen is not known for being idle. When not traveling between the different Hearing Wellness Center offices, they can be found coaching gymnastics, training in aerial arts or hosting weekly game nights with their spouse and friends. On the rare occasion they’re sitting still, they are more than likely busy with a knitting or crochet project!
